SANJOSE will build the first stretch of the future Highway A-57 of Pontevedra for EUR 59.46 million

The Ministry of Development has awarded SANJOSE Constructora the execution works of the stretch Vilaboa - A Ermida for Eur 59.46 million and an execution period of 37 months. The project covers the execution of the stretch Vilaboa - A Ermida of 6.48 km. and a bidirectional link connecting with the N-550 1.74 km long.

This stretch of 6.48 km. in length will be the first of the future highway A-57, which will be the alternative infrastructure to the road N-550 in Pontevedra. This project will run along the east of the metropolitan area of ​​the city of Pontevedra, touring the City Halls of Pontevedra and Vilaboa, and crossing the municipalities of A Ermida, Pintos, Valladares, Pumariño, Bértola, O Outeiro and Boullosa.

The new highway will consist of two lanes (one for each direction), separated by a 3 m. wide median. Both roads will consist of two lanes 3.5 m. wide each, an inner shoulder of 1.50 m., a 2.5 m outside shoulder and 1.10 m and 0.60 m. wide berms. for the exterior and the interior, respectively.

Further, for the connection of this new infrastructure with the existing N-550 a bidirectional link of 1.74 km. starting at Vilaboa will be executed, and after crossing the railway line Pontevedra-Redondela and the AVE line "Atlantic Axis", it will connect with the N-550, proceeding to the remodelling of the existing link in this area to the AP-9.

Among the works to be implemented the project includes 3 links (A Ermida - PO-532, Vilaboa - A-57 and the aforementioned A Ermida - N-550), 4 viaducts, five overpasses and 2 underpasses.
