Cartuja I. is to build the Reifs Retirement Home for the Elderly in Tomares, Seville

Financiera Grupo Reifs has awarded Cartuja I. the contract to build a new, modern centre for the elderly in the Seville town of Tomares, which will have approximately 10,000 square metres of built surface with 180 beds (122 single and 29 double rooms), dining rooms, living and visitors' rooms, a library, restaurant, laundry, large garden areas, etc. Further, the building will have a A energy efficiency rating and will be equipped with photovoltaic solar panels for self-consumption.

Its design obeys the person-centred care concept, which makes the user the central focus of the services. The building will be divided into two living units per floor, so that users will have more intimate spaces to encourage stimulation, orientation, well-being and more personalised attention. In order to enhance the friendly and homely atmosphere, natural light, the connection with nature, proportions and colours have been given prominence in the design.
